Hanging in Anawangin

March had just started, so did Summer!!!!
It's my birth month that's why we planned to have a quick get away after my day.

To the North!

I asked my friends to have our supposedly-Subic-trip on my birth week. And good thing Sir Michael was the one who suggest the date which is March 8, on his day off. And Daniel, who's on-the-spot suggest Zambales.

Anawangin Cove has become one of the beaches I want to experience since 2015. And I have never been this excited to have my post-birthday celebration here, I actually prefer anywhere as long as there's a beach. Starting up Summer, which I consider as my own version of  Christmas every year , well I guess that's the main reason why God introduced the world to me on the month of March because He know how happy a beach lover, sand castle maker, sun kisser and adventure seeker like me would be every time I celebrate my day.  ☀️

ON OUR WAY TO ZAMBALES

It was a very lovely day with my friends: Michael, Daniel and Noemi 👯👊🏼; my boyfie, JV ❤️; and of course, Mutya! 🚕

We gas up Php500 in Shell and left Bulacan at around Quarter to Six in the morning, entered the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), took the San Fernando Exit  which cost Php101 for the toll fee. We went straight forward to the intersection going to Subic, Olongapo. And when we reached the heart of Subic, we just had a quick stop-over for CR break and to substitute Michael for driving from Subic to Zambales.

We are very lucky for having Mutya aside from a very comfy travel she provides, she also guided us in finding the direction on how to get to our destination.

At Nine Thirty in the morning, we were able to reach the Municipality of San Antonio, Zambales, safe and sound. From there we opted to ask directions from the people of Zambales. We headed to Pundaquit and grabbed our late breakfast (Adobo and Afritada) in the small eatery nearby.

Hungry Squad

From there we met, Kuya Reynan. He offered a boat ride from Pundaquit port to Anawangin Cove and a side trip to Capones Island for Php1500. We bought Fresh Tilapias in Talipapa and a bunch of charcoals, water, ice and cooked rice which we forgot to take out of Mutya (Truly an epic fail. 😅) Kuya Reynan gave us a free use of tools for grilling and a knife, while his partner, Vanz, let us borrow his small tent. So generous of them!

BOAT RIDE TO ANAWANGIN COVE

Here we are!! At exactly Eleven in the morning, we clambered over the boat with too much of excitement painted in our salt-water-thirsty faces.

It took 30-40mins to reach Anawangin Cove. While on our way to AC, I can't help but to be amazed on how clear the waters are. It's a light blue colored water plus the little islands that we passed through and a very summer-y heat of sun which made it a one perfect day in the beach.

Eleven thirty, touch down, Anawangin!
We pay Php50/head and Php500 for the  cottage. The boys started the grilling job while Noemi and I are too ecstatic to take photos! (Oh, girls! ) 👯 Since we left the Php100 cost rice, we had no choice but to pay for another cooked rice again for Php170. Tilapias are already cooked and while waiting for the rice we decided to have a refreshing swim in the beach. At first, we're in doubt of jumping in the water because of the melting  heat of sun but when we touches the cold clear water, we're like children who seems no plan of leaving the water. 🏊🏼

This island is a perfect place to unwind, enjoy the beach, appreciate beautiful scenery and to enjoy every seconds of your life with nature. I was able to be with my friends and we considered it as the start of probably lots of TruepAdventure that's coming the soonest this year.

Was able to be with my heart, JV, too! The feeling of like I'm on the other side of the world with him. Holding each other's hands while walking in the sands, discover new things and adventure. Resting in his laps, breathing the same fresh air. Anawangin is indeed a place I wouldn't want to leave so soon. Oh, this is life!

After 30 mins. Here comes the cooked rice. The hungry divers are ready to devour with bare hands! We had our lunch with patis and an apple juice with our DIY plates, look how funny unexpected or should I say unprepared trips. LOL. We also had a satisfactory sleep inside the tent afterwards. All of us inside a small tent. Could you believe it?! A quick walk-around-the-island for the sigh-seeing of what they say "Camping Capital" of the Philippines. It would have been one good night with a bonfire in front beach and beers. Cheers! 😅

Kuya Reynan and Vanz has finally arrived. We didn't get the chance to trek, though, but it's really an unforgettable experience staying in the island of Anawangin.

To Capones Island

We headed to the next island..the Capones Island. A 30mins silent boat ride with only the sound of the boat and waves, an indeed very dramatic moment that you can't see anything but blue water in your surroundings and also a bit scary knowing that you're in the middle of the largest body of water that in a moment if our boat sink we're so dead! Waaaaah!

We went directly at the back of island where the light house is located. We did a short trek to the top to reach the famous Capones Lighthouse. It's very old and retro. But the light house itself is still in good condition. You can see the history in the place. I don't know but I think there's a side of me which wanted to be in places like this. It confuses me because the first lighthouse that I've seen, which is Ilocos Lighthouse, looks exactly the same as Capones'. Do they really have to be in the same color, architecture and  creepy structures (well of course that's because of the time that has passed). Just a a thought, at least I know now what to expect and won't be surprised when I visit a Lighthouse again.

After the seems-to-be-never-ending-picture-taking, kura Reynan brought us in the front side of Capones Island to have a quick refreshing swim after trekking. The beach is beautiful beyond description. Its white sands and clear water is stunningly jaw-breaker. This is where we enjoyed our trip the most. Swimming, snorkeling and crazy underwater shots.

Five in the afternoon when we left the Capones Island. Took a shower, bought souvenirs and pay Kuya Reynan.

Quarter to six, Michael's driving, we left Pundaquit. Gas up another Php500. After almost Three hours, we stopped in Marquee Mall, Clark Pampanga to meet Joseph, Noemi's very special friend, and to have dinner. Thanks to Noemi for the treat. We reached Bulacan at exactly Ten Thirty in the evening and that's the end of trip.

I've been saying Anawangin as Alanganin because of the canceled plans of our Anawangin trips. But now that I have experienced this cove. I would def recommend it to friends and would probably suggest it to Daddy, the most adventurous person I know, for future family trips.

I wonder how stressful life is and life can be. Problems with work, with people and mostly problem when yourself demands insecurities to others. These simple depression doesn't dissolve in dropping off to Mall, dining in an expensive restaurants or even in staying at home. We, people, needs to leave everything in our daily routine alone sometimes. There's no other peaceful and relaxing place to hibernate than seeing and living the nature. The more you bond with God's creation the lesser you need people to talk to. Value and appreciate. City life isn't always for us. But natures are created for us and will always be for us, human. After all, this is where we really belongs. Don't pretend that you're playing because the only thing you do is to hide but in order for you to live this life, learn that seeking is the most important aspect in life.

Hope you like my Anawangin trip. Have a great day!

None other than, Rochel...journeying! :)
