Hundred island hopping.

Summer lovin'16

Another blog! Yay! Sorry for my avid reader for keeping you waiting haha (as if there's one) Well, if you see yourself reading this, well you're probably one! Thanks! :)

Been planning our next summer trip after Anawangin during my Mom's birthday. It should have been an overynight stay in Tagaytay but we've decided to go north again for the second time. Two days and one night in Pangasinan where we can hit two birds in one shot, Hundred Islands and Bolinao beach.

21st of April, Thursday, as usual, meet up time was Three and left at almost Three Thirty. Took North Luzon Expressway up to San Fernando exit. I'm driving by the way. From San Fernando took SCTEx and TPLEx, Mike take over the driving at the end of TPLEx. Reached Pangasinan at almost Eight, almost thirty minutes hunting for Alaminos. At exactly Nine, went straight forward to the Hundred Island's registration office to pay for the fees and to reserve a boat. Nine thirty, start of our Hundred Island Hopping!!!

I've been in Hundred Island six years ago when we celebrated my victory in winning Sangguniang Kabataan as Chairwoman and served as a vacation after a stressful election. I could still remember the first time I hopped in more than two islands.

From Team Anawangin to Team Hundred Island!!

GOVERNOR'S ISLAND

Touch down in the first island at exactly ten! The Governor's Island. It's kinda crowded by tourists, vendors, boats and life guards. But its clear water remains clear like the white sands remains white. From there we hopped in the next island not by using a boat but through floating bridge which is completely exhausting! The wavy 300meters  walk almost caused me to throw up. 😅 But it's really one of my fave in this adventure, the thrill of walking away from an island to another island through floating bridge. ✌🏼️

Governor's island selfie

Would you dare?

So hard to capture a decent photo here! ugh

Matchy matchy!

BUTI PA YUNG ISLAND, VIRGIN! 😜

In a minute, we stepped down in the second island which is the Virgin Island. It has a lot of excitement activities like trekking to the little hill, caving and swimming! Yeah, Governor's Island is not a place for swimming. Of course, we swam in the clear saltwater of Virgin Island under the rock formation that kept us shaded from the sunlight. ☀️😜 We relaxed ourselves by just staying in the water and waiting for the consecutive waves for almost an hour before we trek back.

Adventurous feet

Patterns.

Going back to the Governor's Island, there goes Mamang Bangkero waiting for us. The trek made us tired, hungry and thirsty so before we came aboard  we ate our baon ensaymada, chips and a 2 liters of Sprite, bought a worth Php100 ice cubes, yeah too pricey but see, ice in an island of no electricity?

MARCOS ISLAND

Our tipid brunch is done and we waste no time so headed quickly to the next island. The Marcos Island. Another crowded island. I must say that after 6 years, a lot has changed. The islands are no longer the island that I am expecting. No longer calm and peaceful. Thus, it has lots of vendors again and trash everywhere. Too many signage. Well, as they say you cannot be happy if you keep on comparing. We climb for almost 50 steps to the cliff to jump. You can see numerous bats in the small cave. We jumped one by one in almost 10-15ft water. We also stayed there for a minute to enjoy our swimming while the two boys, Dan and Mike, are excitingly get their snorkeling gear to do their fave thing. 😂 Always!

CATHEDRAL ISLAND

Had a quick stop over in an island called "Cathedral Island". It's a cave-like island which has an altar inside. Mamang bangkero said that there's a lot of couple who chose to have their marriage here. It's one of the most romantic church I've ever seen.  😜 It's just very unique to have your wedding here in your white gown and waters are flowing on the floor, you have your bridal boat and everything. 😍

In the middle of the sea, we stopped. It is said to be the coral viewing site. Where we can do snorkeling as long as we want. Different type and colors of fish, corals and huge huge as in HUGE Giant clams!! Every time I passed trough their front the giant clams are closing the shell as if their protecting the pearls inside like they didn't know that I came from them. 😝 Ya' know, pearly chel! 😂

I didn't get that chance to take photos of the rest of the islands we hopped in because my battery gets empty.

It's almost five when we reach the Alaminos Pier and since we're totally tired and hungry. We decided not to go to Bolinao Island and stay overnight there, hence, we have decided to reward ourselves with a good fresh seafood  dinner instead. 👅

Our favorite place to be alive and talk about life, and so on.

As we headed back home. As promised. To stay up the whole travel time, we also had a coffee break in the middle of the road and to recall and talk about the happy moments in the beach. And that was awesome! 👌🏼

Hundred Island, as what I've said, is not what I'm expecting but it has a lots of activities to offer so you'll enjoy it as well. Places are also said to be like a movie which must be watched twice, it is better to visit twice. But it's kinda frustrating to see how beautiful the place was and how it became controlled by people. But all in all, it's good to be back!!!

Pangasinan, you are surely a town of adventures. Hundred islands, though it's no longer hundreds when its high tide 😂😂 became one of the wonders not only in Philippine but in the world. Another travel where we learned and amazed by the beauty of nature. No one is uncomfortable because we belong here. Every tourists are too happy to get into the water, too excited to take photos, too hungry for adventures and too blessed for the nature. ❤️ I wonder how would that be if one day we lost natures, we can no longer swim in the sea nor breathe fresh water. Where all we can see are only buildings, towers or Malls. I'm afraid that it can possibly happen one day. That's why we should go from one place to another. Travel as much as we can. Discover things wrapped by nature before it's too late. Me, an advocate and devoting myself to learn from nature is telling you not to stay in one place, for blessed are the curious because they have adventures. 😊

It has been a great day and a greater night to rest. 😌 Thank you, Up there. ☝🏼️
